Bielski Partisans

The Bielski partisans was an organisation of Jewish partisans who rescued Jews from extermination and fought against the Nazi German occupiers and their collaborators in the vicinity of Nowogródek (Navahrudak) and Lida in German-occupied Poland (now western Belarus).

Under their protection, 1,213 Jews survived the war, making it one of many remarkable rescue missions in the Holocaust. The group spent more than two years living in the forests and was initially organized by members of the Bielski family.

Defiance

Another good idea spanned from the film defiance, where the polish people were driven into the woods by the nazi's. I thought it portrayed resistance really well.

Propaganda Posters

Propaganda Posters also show another form of resistance to do with the war, and these polish examples are great.

Kathe Kollwitz - Resistance

Here is an etching done by kathe kollwitz, who was working around the same time as the first world war. A majority of her wor was created about the war, and the effects caused by the war. I feel her work is relevant to the work i am doing regarding resistance. This piece is called Uprising.
